Heading into 2012 it’s important to know what your biggest security concerns are. We’re not talking about whether or not to go to www.homesecuritysystem.com, we’re specifically referring to national security and who to watch in the coming year. Here are our thoughts:
Iran: Of course, everyone’s still talking about Iran. It’s not a direct threat at the moment but with increased restrictions on the Persian Gulf they’re the country to keep an eye on in 2012.
Cuba: For the first time in decades the US has lifted travel restrictions to a degree for residents looking to go to Cuba. This could be a positive thing for the US but it could lead to increased trouble between two countries with a long and storied past.
North Korea: North Korea’s on everyone’s list and with the recent death of Kim Jong Il it’s yet to be seen how the new leadership will react to the rest of the world. The saga in the East could go one of two ways and it will be interesting to see how the new leadership takes place.

Despite the increasingly dire call of the world’s population for economic reform, the global economic condition continues to worsen at an astounding speed. The world’s major economic contingencies, including America, Europe and China, are busily pondering the best course of action to combat the projected collapse. However, their prospective actions may be for naught. If recent trends are any indication, the five major prospective solutions may not be enough.

Raising nations’ debt ceilings, increasing taxes on the citizenry and removing beneficial decreases in small business taxation will do more harm than good, in the long run. Many of these small businesses and individual citizens rely on the miniscule monetary relief garnered from the break in overabundant taxes raped from their pockets.

The remaining options of disseminating the remain debt of other countries and the revolving door of buying the remaining debt owed by other countries leads us down a trail which repeats the cycle of debt, ensuring our demise as a global economy.

The global collapse appears, to many, to be a concentrated effort on the part of the global elite to bring down the individual nation economies and usher in a global currency and economic standing. Examining the proposed solutions only furthers this belief as, at second glance, they offer an ingenious way for the final push towards global dominance to become reality.

The debt ceiling issue is certainly no joke. There has been much debate on the topic and many Americans have been worried about the outcome of deals made by Washington for the last several months. It is important to understand that politicians that we elected to represent us have known of the dangers of the debt crisis for almost a year and have done very little to ensure that any financial crisis were averted. Instead, it seems that they simply argued back and forth, trying to turn people against each other and not paying attention to important deadlines. Instead, what really happened was that both sides of the table continued to bicker back and forth until the very last moment. It was only then that they decided that something had to be done and a deal of sorts was stricken up. Small spending reductions were made that had a minimal effect on the national debt problem. It seems that most Americans agreed that spending cuts should have been combined with a slight tax increase in order to raise more revenue. Unfortunately, this did not happen.

The only plus side about the debt deal is that very soon, a super committee will have to meet and make more spending cuts. These people come from both sides of the isle, so it is feasible that they will be able to negotiate a better deal than the one that was made recently.

Since the war in Iraq, Turkey has been sort of a role model for other middle eastern countries. A nation continually striving to gain prosperity and maintain peace with other nations. It has been ruled by a democratic parliament for over 60 years.
Its neighbor Syria has been breaking down with violence and tension. Its citizens are fleeing to Turkey in the thousands. Turkey has been understanding to these people and strives to help humanitarian and security concerns in Syria. They look at their neighbors as family and the unfortunate blood that has been shed as their own. The foreign policy in Turkey is to lend a hand without being asked first. The middle east does not need a civil war to break out in Syria and Turkey will support their peace at all costs.
Meanwhile tensions between Turkey and Israel increase as the UN “Palmer Report” concluded that Israel used unnecessary force against the ship which was providing aid to Gaza. They have still received not even an apology for the Flotilla raid last year. Therefore diplomatic ties have been downgraded as Turkey expelled Israeli diplomats. This worries many in terms of Turkey’s role in the peace process in the middle east with much concern over the long-term consequences as the political relationship with Israel crumbles.

Leaving Afghanistan will be good for the United States. Each year, America spends billions of dollars on military funding. We will be saving a lot of money by getting out of their country. This is especially important since the nation is currently trillions of dollars in debt. Not only that, but our troops will finally be able to come home. Many Americans have lost their lives while fighting for the war in Afghanistan. Since we are leaving their country, a lot of lives will be saved. At long last, our troops can return home to their families and loved ones. You can find a quick rundown here

However, leaving Afghanistan will also be a bad thing. We are leaving their country in the middle of a war. Taliban members kill innocent people on a daily basis. Our troops will no longer be there to help protect the innocent citizens. Along with that, we are leaving a bunch of weapons in the hands of the enemy. It costs too much money to ship the military equipment home. As a result, most of it will get left behind. Once we leave, these weapons are likely to be used by Taliban members. Afghanistan is still unstable and needs lots of help.
